A Family Affair

A Family Affair is a comedy and the main character is Travius Marcellus Murphy, aka Tray. Tray is a unique character with a strong belief in family values. He's a very honest and hardworking man; however, he's usually politically incorrect. His perspective of life, his thoughts, and daily activities are hilarious and sometimes ridiculous. Many of his thoughts and actions were observed by the author and brought to life in this book through the main character. The supporting characters all have unique roles reflecting family unity, bonds, struggles, crisis, and family unification through the characters' beliefs and lifestyles. The author interjects God's Word, Christian beliefs and values, and salvation throughout the book. The main objectives are to show the reader that despite who you are, what you've done, or whatever situations you're in "" good or bad, God's love is unconditional, and salvation is available to everyone if you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior.

The beginning of the book is narrated by Tray's daughter, Beverly, and throughout the story, she gives insights into her dad's life from his high school graduation up to meeting and marrying her mother, Deloris.

Written from a humorous perspective, the story evokes readers to get emotional: laugh, smile, and even get angry. Most of all, it shows readers how good prevails over evil and how individuals have an opportunity to choose eternal life in heaven or in hell.
