A Joyous Life

Soon after being diagnosed with ALS/Lou Gehrig's disease, the author was admiring flowers in the garden with her granddaughter. She overheard her granddaughter mispronounce a butterfly as a "flutterby." From a simple three-year-old's mispronunciation, an idea formed that became the basis of A Joyous Life.

The story follows a caterpillar that lives a life full of fun, laughter, and joy. She is surrounded by friends and loved ones. As the seasons of life pass, she becomes tired and settles into her cocoon. Her transformation helps others understand the cycle of life and the beauty that can be found in simple moments. People, special occasions, celebrations, family, and friendships flutter by throughout her life. These moments leave special memories behind that form A Joyous Life. This book offers a positive outlook on the passing of a loved one and the memories you hold dear.
