PSALMS AND HYMNS Poetic expressions of life, love and war.

In the days of slavery, Hebrew slaves as well as negro slaves would sing hymns of praise, self-encouragement, and cries out to God. These old spirituals also, often, had an underlying meaning and message that their slave masters couldn't discern. This served as a method of secret communication in addition to their basic purposes. Psalms, basically put, are the words of the music, without the instrumental accompaniment. God commanded of his people to "speak out to each other in psalms and hymns, making melody with all our heart to the Lord." The enemy has been very successful in dividing and diluting God's people and our topic of conversation. That is the inspiration behind this book. I present to you, Psalms and Hymns-Poetic Expressions of Life, Love, and War.
