The Christian Way: "Christian" is not a title -- It's a way of life

Solomon in Proverbs 14:12 said, “There is a way that seems right to a man, but the end thereof is nothing but destruction.” The Christian way is and must not be the way of man because man-made rules are flawed and will never direct our path the way God’s law will. No country under the sun will fully adopt the Bible as its constitution like Christians do. We are in this world but not of this world. The most recent presidential election has divided the nation. It is very important now more than ever that Christians know their place in this world. We need to recognize that just as God gave criteria in selecting leaders for the physical Israel, he also made provisions for selecting congregational leaders for us today as the spiritual Israel. God does not love people who live in dictatorship countries any less than he loves us here in America. We cannot blame or credit God for giving us a leader that we picked or didn't pick wherever we may be in this world. If God picked one, then he picked them all. We should only ask for guidance in our selection process. There is no Biblical criteria in selecting a president in the US or anywhere else. This is because Christians need not put their hopes on the party of the donkey or the elephant. Rather, we must focus on the party of the Lamb that was slain on Calvary. This is the only way we, as Christians, can remain unified in the midst of turmoil while recognizing that we are just pilgrims passing through this world, which is not and will never be our forever home.
