The Weary Pilgrim

There are many wonderful religious and nonreligious books about people who struggled through the trials and tests of life to be better people because of them. This is one pastor's perspective on his own personal journey of life and faith. How does one handle crisis in the life of a church and see the big picture of God's master plan? That is what I have tried to relate in this book. It is a story, but it is also reflections of a caregiver who has grown weary of doing good, though we are told not to in 2 Thessalonians 3:13.

Throughout the book I tell about being reminded of one primary message of the Bible: keep the faith because God is faithful. As Thomas Merton prayed, "My Lord God, I have no idea where I am going. I do not see the road ahead of me. I cannot know for certain where it will end. Nor do I really know myself, and the fact that I think I am following your will does not mean that I am actually doing so. But I believe that the desire to please you does in fact please you."
