Torn Between Two Loves

This is my journey: thirty years of marriage to an incredible woman who has encountered sixty abdominal surgeries, strokes, and a pulmonary embolism; twenty years of a gambling addiction that had devastated my marriage and my relationship with God; adoption of our two children and their health issues; the death of my forty-five-year-old brother and business partner; the death of my wife's father and care of his two-year-old son and mother; and the miracle of God's grace, love, and forgiveness that has brought us through it all to be more in love than when we first met.

So who am I that anyone would read my story? Is my life so different from anyone else's in this world? People would say to me that their life is normal. What is normal? Normal, for me, is to leave my wife at the ER and say, "Call me when you're done." That, for me, is normal, but most might say I am one sandwich short of a picnic. I can only tell my story and let you decide.
