After ending a tumultuous engagement to Dallas attorney Stephen Conrad, Jill Murray has returned to the Texas Hill Country. Here she finds solace, living with her grandmother on Wind River Ranch, home of Wind River Arabians.

An accomplished equestrienne, Jill spends her days with the magnificent Arabian horses Wind River is known for breeding. Surrounded by her close-knit family, she knows that coming home was a good decision.

Jill's peaceful world is turned upside-down when she and her dog, Simon, rescue a young runaway in trouble. As she gets to know the child's father, Dave Wilder, Jill begins to welcome the idea of having a man in her life again.

Her attraction to the former professional baseball pitcher does not go unnoticed by family friend Roger Dunn. In addition to Roger's jealous attempts to end the romance, Jill's frustration grows when someone from her past begins calling.
