The Easter Story is the greatest love story ever told. It's about God's longing and desire to have a relationship with people. There are many obstacles in this story from the time of Jesus's birth to the crucifixion, but God is so passionate and determined to get to the object of His love nothing stops Him. This story is the culmination of the Jesus's life, from His humble beginnings of being born in a manger to being subjected to a criminal's death on a cross. Jesus overcomes betrayal with a kiss from Judas, false accusations from the Sanhedrin, denial by Peter, extreme humiliation by being spat upon and mocked with a crown of thorns, crucifixion, and death for the redemption of mankind. His resurrection, empty tomb, is the final step for Him to make a way for restoration between God and mankind. The reconciliation that was won as a result allows His children new life in Christ and the ability to become "fishers of men." This story intrigues believers and nonbelievers alike and has challenged scholars for decades. Who would go to these lengths and why? We were created to know Him and be known by Him. There is no greater love.
