I wrote the children’s book You Got a Dog! when I realized my nieces and nephews didn’t know the basics about getting a new dog. And other children might need to be introduced to the basics as well before they bring their new family member home.

My hope is this book will help teach children about simple care and love for their new animals and prevent future animal abuse and neglect.
