Elinka's World explores the experiences of childhood and how a small child interprets them. The narrators observe her parents, her grandmas, and her playmates, as well as ants and frogs, a funeral, and other events.

Readers may recall some of their own experiences in similar situations as they, too, began to wonder what ant families do at night or how Grandma used her ear to play the piano.

The verses of Elinka's World remind us that even though we all have similar experiences, each human being is special, and they bring us closer to the innocent curiosity and peace of childhood.
